Reuters: Sony sieht 10 Jahres Zyklus für die PlayStation 2

Laut Reuters glaubt Sony, dass die PS2 sich noch über Jahre verkaufen wird. Und die Verkäufe sogar noch ansteigen werden in den nächsten Jahren. Zudem sieht sich Sony mit den Verkäufen der Psone (deren 10 Jahrestag sich auch allmählich nähert), in der Philosophie bestätigt. Auch spricht es gegen die Aussagen von vielen Analysten, die vermuteten, dass sich die Hersteller schon jetzt auf die Marketingaktivitäten für die nächste Generation stützen. Auch passen dazu Aussagen wie z.B. die EAs zu der Vermutung, dass die PS2 auch noch in Jahren Support erfahren wird. Auf der Games Developers Conference sprach EA davon, dass man bis 2010 die PlayStation 2 noch unterstützen würde. Auch sagte man, dass nicht alle Top Entwickler sofort auf die Next Generation abgezogen werden. Und als Beweis legte man Zahlen vor, die belegten das EA für div. Sportspiele des 2004er Jahrgang`s noch Absätze in Millionenhöhe für die Psone verzeichnen konnte.
